After working with Adam to sell our home and secure our new residence, I'm not sure what would compel me to work with someone other than Adam in the future. He is very sensible in his approach which is to say they he is extremely levelheaded, analytical, and considerate of the wide number of variables affecting both the buyer and seller during the many phases of the transaction. Critically, Adam also has a very strong intuition for the situation which proved very valuable to us eventually resulting in an unexpectedly rapid escrow that financially exceeded our expectations. To think that any home transaction will be perfectly predictable and go precisely according to plan with zero surprises would be foolish, so it's critical to have a responsive, judicious and ethical teammate on your side which is what Adam was for our family. Nothing in word can describe my gratitude to Adam in helping me purchase/lease my dream home in San Diego! I am an expatriate working in Beijing, China planning to relocate to San Diego. I wasn't very happy with the agent I was working with so I went online to look for some listings? When I saw a property I like at Zillow, it happened that Adam was the corresponding agent and he responded immediately to learn in detail my relocation plan as well as financial plan and introduced me to a loan broker who can cater my mortgage need since I don't have sufficient U.S. based income to qualify for conventional mortgage. Without this, I couldn't be qualified for a loan and I would have given up my dream house purchase for some time. Through email/phone communication, Adam identified several properties that I like and advised me the Pros/Cons of each of them for my family with 2 little kids. Finally I put a deposit on my current house without even meeting him or touring the property! And he helped me close the deal in a matter of one week and handled all the details, including close of escrow, extended stay for the previous owner and leasing of the property to new tenant with swift action and proper care. And he offered help when/where it is needed even though he needs to take care his own business/family. Professional, Receptive, Diligent. Three words I would use to describe Chris Remsen while he helped us purchase our first home. I really can’t say enough good things about Chris and the job he did for us. If you are looking for detail oriented, knowledgeable and flexible realtor who is going to be your advocate and go-to expert on everything real estate related from applying for a loan to closing on a home, you will not be disappointed with Chris Remsen. Being a first time homebuyer, I was overwhelmed with all of the advice coming in from friends and family while scrambling to make sure I was making sound financial decisions. When I started thinking about getting a realtor I thought to myself, “Ugh, how am I going to find someone who will look out for me and not just try to sell me a home.” Through my dealings with Chris I am positive that he was looking out for my wife and me throughout the entire process. Through the entire process, no matter how much work Chris had done with a home we were looking at, he constantly reminded us that if it didn't feel right, we'd move on. From the beginning, he sat down with us so that he could understand what we were looking for and explained to us the best options for finding the perfect home. Chris explained to us the limits of our budget and gave us his opinions on what we could do with a higher budget but remained focused on our wants and needs. From that moment on, Chris was readily available to answer any questions or concerns we had as well as to update us on the status of our search, escrow and closing. While looking at homes Chris’ knowledge on home repairs and improvements stood out. Anything we thought of, “What would it take to replace this?” “What would it cost to repair that?” 99% of the time Chris already had the answer. For that other 1%, he did the research and reported back, usually that day. Once we found a home, people told me, “You don’t know if you have a good realtor. Finding the house is the easy part.” First, I disagree. In this market, the early bird gets the worm and Chris’ availability during our time looking for a home was unparalleled. Any home we wanted to see, Chris made time, right away to take us. If we liked it, he had comps available, a recommended offer and negotiation strategy ready to go so that we could be “the early bird”. If your realtor has “business hours”, good luck! Second, if finding the home is the easy part, then Chris must have done all of the work in closing on the home. We told Chris what we wanted, and he made it happen. He coordinated inspections, got repair quotes and negotiated with the sellers. Sure there was a lot of back and forth with us, but nothing I would consider work. Usually when I buy things I avoid searching for them online afterwards so that I don’t get disappointed by a better deal that comes along. I have kept my eye online since the day we went into escrow and not a single home has closed since we purchased ours that made me wish I didn’t buy this home at the price Chris negotiated for me. Chris was instrumental in our home buying experience and I would recommend him to anyone. read less

My husband and I are first time home buyers and didn't really know where to start. We were referred to Chris by a long time friend and couldn't have been happier with our decision to work with him. Chris was very easy to work with and he took the time to learn what my husband and I were looking for in a house. He didn't try to push us above our budget, but really helped to educate us on what we could expect and what was available to us within our budget. Chris also made himself available for showings around our work schedules to make sure we could see new houses right when they became available and was always available to answer our questions via phone, text and email. Throughout the process of viewing homes, Chris was very knowledgeable in repair costs. We would ask him "what would it cost to do this or that or make this change" and was always able to provide us an estimate based on his past experiences and relationships with various contractors. If he wasn't sure of a cost, he did the research, retrieved quotes, and followed up with us very quickly. He was also able to help us understand different costs during the inspection process and refer us to different contractors to assist with the work. Chris went above and beyond in every way - from his communication with us, his schedule flexibility, negotiations with the sellers, and repair assistance - there isn't anything we would have had him do differently. I highly highly recommend Chris to anyone in the market for a new home! You will not be disappointed. read less
